About table display mode

In table display mode, each row in the table represents an asset. You can filter a table by or by using About asset filters.

The following table describes the various elements shown in a Collibra table.

1 View selector The view selector shows the name and description of the current view, and allows you to choose another view.
2 View toolbar

edits the name and description of the current view.

saves changes to the current view or creates a view.

shares the current view.

deletes the current view.
3 Asset filter You can use an asset filter to limit the number of assets shown.
4 Action menu

The following buttons are enabled only when you select one or more checkboxes:

  • Delete deletes the selected assets.
  • Move moves the selected assets to a different domain.
  • Validate runs validation rules that may be assigned to the types of the selected assets.
Tip You may see additional buttons that start a workflow for the selected assets. Only the workflows that are applicable to the selected assets are available.
5 Table content toolbar

imports assets or complex relations.

exports assets or complex relations.

shows a selection of assets as a hierarchy, or tree structure, based on their relation type. When you select only one relation type, Collibra Platform builds the hierarchy as deeply as possible, traversing occurrences of that single relation type as often as it can. For more information, go to Hierarchies.

refreshes the table.

manages columns and rows. You can add, remove, and move columns, and select the number of rows shown per page. For more information, go to Customize tables.

shows a preview of the selected row. You can select a row by clicking the row itself, not the checkbox.
6 Fields

The fields are the column headings.

You can customize the table to determine which fields are shown and in which order they are shown. You can also rename the field display names.

From the heading, you can:

  • Select all visible assets.
  • Sort on one or more columns, in ascending or descending order.
  • Apply or clear a column filter.
7 Body

The body of the table shows the actual content of the table in rows.

From a table, you can do the following:

  • Select a row.
  • Edit the content of one, selected, or all visible cells.
8 Pages

The table pages. This section appears if the table contains more rows than are shown.

You can do the following:

  • Define the number of rows per page.
  • Navigate between table pages.
9 Counter

The total number of assets in the table.

If the table contains more than 10 000 rows, the counter shows 10 000 +. Click it to see the exact count.

discards the draft and replaces it with the last published version of the view.

edits the name and description of the view.

publishes or duplicates the view.

Tip The text Draft indicates that you have edited the view.

opens the filter pane, which you can use to limit the number of assets shown in the view.

Tip If you enable the hierarchy, a selection of assets is shown in a tree structure based on their relation type. If you select only one relation type, Collibra builds the hierarchy as deeply as possible, traversing occurrences of that single relation type as often as it can.

refreshes the table.

customizes the columns. You can rename the column headings, show or hide columns, and define the order in which the columns are shown in the table.

shows the full text (wraps) or trims the text in all the cells of the table.

shows the assets as a set of tiles.

shows a preview of the asset whose cell (not the checkbox) you clicked.

Tip 
  • You can sort the columns in ascending or descending order.
  • You can apply or clear a column filter.
  • You can filter on multiple column headings at once.

Asset field values.

Tip You can edit the value in a cell by double-clicking the cell. You can also apply your change to either the selected assets (if any) or all the assets visible in the table. This action cannot be undone.

Tip You can select all the visible assets in the table by selecting the checkbox next to the column headings.

  • An indicator of how many rows are shown per page. You can change this number by clicking the drop-down list and selecting the number you want.
  • Arrows to navigate between the pages.
Tip You can also switch to tile display mode. To do so:
  1. On the content toolbar, click → Change Display Mode → Tiles.
  2. Click .
