# Alert Configuration

Simple Mail Transport Protocol, or SMTP, is an internet standard for email transmission. Collibra DQ allows you to configure a single SMTP server to send alerts to the attention of the dataset owner in case a specific condition is met, such as:

* Data Quality Score is below a specific threshold.
* Row Count is below a specific threshold.
* If a rule is triggered.

<table><thead><tr><th width="152">Field</th><th>Description</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td>SMTP Host</td><td>The name or the IP address of the SMTP server.</td></tr><tr><td>SMTP Port</td><td>The port used by the SMTP server.</td></tr><tr><td>SMTP Username</td><td>The username or the account that is configured on the SMTP server for use.</td></tr><tr><td>SMTP Password</td><td>The password of the SMTP server username or account.</td></tr><tr><td>To Email (Default)</td><td>The sender email address.</td></tr><tr><td>Reply Email</td><td>The reply-to email address.</td></tr><tr><td>Include Links</td><td><p>Links to the specific instance(s)/page(s) where the alert came from in the DQ alert email.</p><p>If you select this check box, the links to the specific instance(s)/page(s) where the alert came from display in the Collibra DQ alert email. This allows you to quickly access the environment(s), from which the alert originated.</p><div data-gb-custom-block data-tag="hint" data-style="info" class="hint hint-info"><p>When you enable the <strong>Include Links</strong> functionality, you must also paste in your host address (e.g., https://x.x.x.x) into the HOST_NAME value, found in the <a href="/data-quality-self-hosted/admin-configuration/admin-console/configuration-settings/application-configuration-settings.md">application configuration settings</a>.</p></div><div data-gb-custom-block data-tag="hint" data-style="warning" class="hint hint-warning"><p>Be aware that some email servers, such as Microsoft Exchange, require the <strong>SMTP username</strong> and <strong>Reply email</strong> fields to be the same.</p></div></td></tr><tr><td>Remove Data Quality &#x26; Observability (self-hosted) from email subjects</td><td>Removes "Data Quality &#x26; Observability (self-hosted)" from the subject of alert emails. When you select this option, the subject of the alert email is the name of the alert.</td></tr><tr><td>Alert Email Signature</td><td>Enter a custom email signature to include at the end of all alert emails.</td></tr></tbody></table>
